a. The effect of concentration. Chemical Corrosion We also call the micro-battery corrosion, the more positive the redox potential, the faster the corrosion rate. As the concentration increases, the redox potential becomes positive and the corrosion rate increases. Industrial grade ferric chloride is not high in purity, and its redox potential is relatively negative. Only when the Baume degree reaches 42 or higher, the redox potential can meet the requirements of corrosion of stainless steel.
b. Effect of pH on the corrosion rate in solution. The PH value is low, which is strong against the corrosion of stainless steel; the pH value is too high, and the ferric chloride is hydrolyzed into iron hydroxide precipitate, which loses the corrosion effect. The pH of the corrosive liquid used in production should be adjusted to a certain extent.
c. Effect of the temperature of the corrosive solution. The higher the temperature of the corrosive liquid, the faster the corrosion rate. However, considering the resistance of the corrosion-resistant ink, the temperature should be controlled between 30--40 °C.
